ABOUT ME

I am James, the founder, and Creative Director of James Hillman Fashion Consultancy. I wanted to take some time to say hello personally and tell you a little bit about me…

Originally from Jersey in the Channel Islands, I moved to London in the early 2000s to study Fashion at Kingston and then Central St Martins. I have always had a passion to work in fashion from an early age, I even attended an all-girls school so I could do textiles (thanks Mrs. Concannon!) to ensure I could get the qualifications I needed to follow my dream!

After graduation, I started my career being mentored by Mr. Elio Fiorucci in Milan. Worked at Balmain in Paris, then at BCBG in the south of France, and with Korean Designer Moon Young Hee. In my career, my personal highlights have been winning the Mittelmoda Levi’s Award for sustainable clothing in 2009. Having numerous collections in London fashion week for my own personal label and opening Amsterdam fashion week as well as many others but am under strict NDA so I can’t mention them!

In 2012 I took a step back from working on personal collections to set-up this fashion consultancy to help new and existing luxury brands become more successful. Over the subsequent years, I have developed collections for some of the biggest brands in the world, helped many new start-ups, and have not looked back since!
